MOLLY MOCKFORD'S CANALLY PAGES

PICTURES OF PEOPLE - and others!

Latest addition(s) - 16 March 2002

Right, I didn't mean to volunteer for this.  But, as they say, one volunteer is worth ten pressed men - and I reckon I'm worth ten men of any degree of pressedness.  Anyway, this is a page (or the first of a set of pages, who knows?) which will contain photos, which I may or may not have not taken myself, of canally people who I may or may not have met.  Anyone feeling left out?

And the first volunteer is... Ian Boddison!  Bod's excuse for his appearance in this photo (which he sent me of his own volition) is as follows:

"It was taken on my stag day after several hours of drinking but also after the curry!!!"

Photo taken by:  Who knows? Who would admit to it?
Bod's status:  Unmet (whew!).

And a round of applause, please, for the next masochistic volunteer - it's Martin E. Phillips, folks!  That's the one who is into "Homebrewing, black pudding, boats, morris dancing, ham radio and more".

When he sent me this picture, it was entitled mep2.jpg.  You mean he had another photo available, but nevertheless chose this one?

Photo taken by:  Martin himself, he says.
Martin's status:  Unmet.

Wassail!

And here is Paul Jerome.  Paul says:

"Me, Luke and a tree frog at last year's National. I will leave it to you to work out which is which."

Paul is apparently an "ex-Morris musician". This may explain a lot.

Photo taken by:   Not known.
Paul's status:  Unmet.
Luke's status:  Unmet.
Treefrog's status:  Met frequently in pub.

Now, Paul wasn't totally satisfied with the above photograph.  "Just found this picture of me and Luke. Would it be more suitable?" he asked.

Yes, very much more suitable.

Photo taken by:   Not known.
Paul's status:  Still unmet, thank the Lord.
Luke's status:  Looks familiar... is he related to the treefrog, by any chance?

May the farce be with you!

Now we have Bob Adams.  I find it difficult to find anything 'orrible to say about Bob as all his postings to uk.rec.waterways seem to be eminently sensible!

On the other hand, the mere fact that he sent me this photo shows a severely warped sense of humour, and makes one guess that he has a happy dentist.

Bob's status:  Unmet.

And here, for your delectation, is Tony Mealing.   Tony has long had an ambition to play Blott on the Landscape, possibly because David Suchet is also keen on narrowboats.

Photo taken by:  Helen Mealing
Tony's status:  Met
Reason for Tony wearing a beret in the house:  Your guess is as good as mine.

This is Kevin Warrington.  Yes, it really is.  Kevin, you may recall, is the chap who has put a lock and half-a-narrowboat in his garden.  Even though he doesn't live near a canal, or even a river.

Kevin has never heard of Dilbert or the PHB, but wonders why people laugh when he takes his Etch-a-Sketch out of his briefcase at meetings and turns it upside-down to reboot it.

He may be regarded as a typically average and normal denizen of uk.rec.waterways.

Kevin's status: Unmet, thankfully

Next victim is Jezza. That's Jeremy McNeill, actor, to those in the luvvy business.  But he also holds a Boatmaster's Licence, so don't be fooled into thinking he's only playing at boating.

Jezza gave me the choice of two photos, but I just couldn't make up my mind, so I present you with both, with and without beard.  Oh, and if you are already quailing at the thought of meeting him in a dark tunnel, I would just mention that Jezza is 6' 2" tall...

Photos lightened by: Me
Jezza's status: Unmet

Now, don't y'all start sitting there feeling safe and smug.  There are those whom I have met, and whose photos I have, but haven't uploaded yet - they will follow as soon as I get a circular tuit.  And, for those I have not yet met, are you really totally sure that someone else won't send me an incriminating picture of you?  Be afraid - be very afraid!

And don't forget the photos from the GIGs in 2000 and 2001, not to mention the Syd Arkless Humiliation Page.  If this thing takes off, I suppose I'll have to write an index page...  At least I've got round to converting this page to CSS!
